A balanced heart chakra is just joyful. Unfortunately, many of us encounter blockages in the heart chakra. Due to the modern life style, we often face circumstances that can cause heart center blockages—from emotional break ups or health issues to low self-esteem.
When the heart chakra is weak or blocked, many signs and symptoms arise—including but not limited to being defensive, critical, controlling, suspicious, withdrawn, possessive and afraid of letting go. When in balance a healthy heart chakra reflects acceptance of others, life and oneself. Here are easy ways to start working on your heart chakra.
1- Meditating On The Heart ChakraBefore meditating on the heart chakra, ask yourself the following questions:
- What are the past emotional issues that i need to heal?
- What are the past/present relationships that i need to heal?
- Are my emotional blockages taking over me, causing me try controlling people and situations around me?
- What do i need to forgive myself, and others for?
Sit in a comfortable position, and make sure not to be disturbed for the next 15 minutes. Start to breathe slowly, and deeply. Let your body relax as you breathe, feel your feet relaxing, feel your legs, your hips, and torso relaxing. Let this feeling of relaxation move up your spine relaxing all of your back muscles, then moves to your abdomen going up to you chest relaxing all organs and muscles in that area. Allow the feeling of relaxation to move to your shoulders, neck, and face, then to your head, and feel this wave of relaxation taking over you, and completely relaxing every cell of your body.
Now that you are relaxed, bring your awareness to the heart center, feel the energy settling there. Start to let the heart chakra speaks through your mind, let all positive affirmation come out straight from your heart, words like "I embody unconditional love, I am unconditional love, i enjoy abundance of love..Whatever positive affirmation reflect in your mind." It is very important to feel every word, and to let that feeling take over you.
Now visualize waves of love energy radiating around your coming from your heart center, and let those lovely radiation reach everyone you know, your ex, your partner, your sons/daughters, your friends...etc
Continue to do this until you feel complete. You may start to cry as your heart chakra opens, this happens quite often, and it is a good sign, continue to practice, and let those radiations of love fill your whole being. 3- Practice LoveAnother important factor is to practice giving love on daily basis, especially to those you did not like. It makes a big difference when you practice love with all people, animals, and even insects around you. Find a good reason for which you love every living creature you encounter. As you go through your day, also notice the trees, the plants, and all the green colored gardens for it they represent the color of your heart chakra. Bond with them, and love them all. Remind yourself with the fact that the more love you give, the more love you receive.
4- Make Use Of Essential OilsEssentials oils are wonderful especially when used during meditation, and are proven to work wonders. Sandalwood, jasmine, lemon, orange, lavender, tangerine and rose oils are known to help purify, and balance the heart chakra. 5- Food That Fuels The Heart ChakraAnother important element to keep in consideration is food. Leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, dandelion greens are very beneficial to your heart organ on the physical level, as well as your heart chakra on the energetic level. Also air vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, celery, squash...etc, and liquids like water, and greet tea are also very important to aid the heart energy center.
6- Symptoms Of Awakening The Heart ChakraA lot of people report strong energetic flows of energy flushing through the heart center, and a very pleasant minty sensation around the chest area. Crying, and or laughing without a good reason are also known symptoms, and they usually take place once the heart chakra starts purifying.
